Accounting Analyst
Job Description
Description If you're an accountant who naturally asks "why doesn't this number tie out?" and enjoys figuring out what is happening behind the numbers, this could be a great fit. A growing manufacturing organization in Encinitas is adding an Accounting Analyst to its Finance & Accounting team. This position sits between traditional accounting and financial operations, giving you exposure to reconciliations, reporting, inventory, month-end close, and process improvement. You won't simply be entering transactions all day. You'll be expected to investigate discrepancies, identify trends, and help the team make its accounting processes cleaner and more efficient.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
+ Analyze general ledger activity and investigate unusual transactions
+ Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules
+ Assist with month-end and year-end close
+ Review inventory-related accounting activity
+ Reconcile operational data to financial records
+ Analyze variances and research discrepancies
+ Assist with journal entries and accruals
+ Prepare recurring accounting and management reports
+ Review transactions for appropriate coding
+ Partner with Operations, Purchasing, and Inventory teams
+ Maintain accurate financial documentation
+ Assist with internal and external audit requests
+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows
+ Support special projects for the Controller and accounting leadership Requirements + 2-4 years of accounting or financial operations experience
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
+ Strong Excel skills
+ Comfortable working with large data sets
+ Solid understanding of general accounting principles
+ ERP experience
+ Strong reconciliation skills
+ Naturally curious and analytical
