Job Description
Our regional banking team in Cerritos, CA is hiring an experienced Mortgage Closer to own the final stage of our residential loan pipeline. We offer a transparent $70,000-$85,000 base salary plus a per-file bonus that directly rewards your output.
What you'll doManage the closing process for a high-volume residential loan pipeline from underwriting approval through fundingPrepare, review, and issue accurate closing packages, including the Closing Disclosure (CD) and loan documentsVerify all underwriting conditions are met and that compliance guidelines are satisfied prior to fundingCoordinate daily with loan processors, loan officers, title companies, and attorneys to hit strict closing deadlinesReview title commitments, insurance policies, and tax information to ensure clear title and proper coverageBalance fees and wire amounts with settlement agents to ensure accurate funding and disbursementIdentify document discrepancies early and drive swift resolutions to prevent any delays at the closing tableWhat you need2+ years of experience closing residential mortgage loans, preferably at a bank or regional lending institutionDeep working knowledge of mortgage compliance regulations, TRID guidelines, and conventional/FHA/VA closing requirementsHands-on proficiency with a loan origination system (LOS) like EncompassHigh attention to detail and strong mathematical skills to ensure flawless data entry and fee balancingNice to haveExperience in a bank or credit union environment (vs. broker or non-bank lender)In-depth familiarity with state-specific California lending and closing regulationsBilingual communication skills (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin) given our Cerritos marketDemonstrated ability to thrive and remain calm under tight month-end volume pressuresPay & benefitsBase salary: $70,000-$85,000 depending on experiencePer-file bonus: Additional compensation tied directly to your pipeline volume and efficiencyMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchingPaid time off plus paid banking holidaysLocation & scheduleFull-time, onsite - Cerritos, CA.
