Job Description
Our regional banking team in Cerritos, CA is hiring an experienced Loan Processor to own a high-volume residential pipeline. We offer a transparent $65,000-$80,000 base salary plus a per-file bonus that directly rewards your output.
What you'll do:
Manage a full residential loan pipeline from application submission through closing, maintaining accuracy and speed at high volume.
Verify and analyze borrower documentation - income, assets, credit, and employment - to meet our underwriting standards.
Keep every file board-ready: ensure compliance with our bank policies, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines at each stage.
Coordinate daily with our loan officers, underwriters, appraisers, and title companies to hit closing deadlines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, providing clear status updates and resolving open conditions promptly.
Identify documentation gaps or discrepancies early and drive resolution before they delay closing.
Maintain organized, audit-ready loan files throughout the lifecycle of each application.
What you need:2+ years of experience processing residential mortgage loans, preferably at a bank or regional lending institution.
Working knowledge of mortgage compliance regulations and conventional/FHA/VA underwriting guidelines.
Hands-on proficiency with a loan origination system (LOS) like Encompass.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with a track record of managing a pipeline without dropping files.
Nice to have:
Experience in a bank or credit union environment (vs. broker or non-bank lender).Familiarity with TRID, HMDA, and state-specific California lending regulations.
Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin) given our Cerritos market.
Pay & benefits:
Base salary: $65,000-$80,000 depending on experience.
Per-file bonus: Additional compensation tied directly to your pipeline volume and efficiency.
