full-time Vice President - Investment Banking / M&A Metronome Partners is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Chicago office. Metronome Partners is an independent, middle-market M&A advisory firm that focuses on sell-side M&A services to privately held businesses, financial sponsors, and corporate clients across a variety of industries. The Vice President will play a significant role in both transaction execution and new business development, working closely with Managing Directors and clients throughout the M&A process. The position offers substantial exposure to business owners, senior executives, financial sponsors, and other transaction professionals, with meaningful responsibility from pitching new prospects and initial client engagement through transaction closing.

Responsibilities include:

Lead day-to-day execution of M&A transactions from initial engagement through closing Work directly with Managing Directors and clients to develop transaction strategies and execute key workstreams Manage and mentor Associates and Analysts, including reviewing financial models, valuation analyses, presentations, and other transaction materials Prepare and oversee the preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, teasers, pitch materials, buyer lists, and other marketing materials Participate in and help lead client meetings, management presentations, buyer meetings, and other transaction-related discussions Coordinate and manage buyer outreach and the due diligence process, including communication with buyers, lenders, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors Conduct detailed company, industry, and market research to support transaction execution and new business development Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities and potential transaction mandates and contribute to the firm's marketing and business development initiatives Develop and maintain relationships with clients, prospective clients, investors, and other M&A professionals Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of investment banking or relevant M&A advisory experience, with demonstrated experience executing middle-market transactions. Candidates should possess strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
