Director of Group Controlling & FP&A Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Controller to oversee the financial and accounting operations of two manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for leading financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory controls, and operational financial analysis while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with both Finance and Operations to drive profitability, improve manufacturing performance, and support strategic business decisions. The position includes oversight of plant controllers in both the U.S. and Japan and requires periodic travel to both locations. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or Master's degree preferred).
5-7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance or controlling.
3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems and Power BI.
Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Build collaborative relationships with budget owners, plant leadership, and executive management.
Develop, review, and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and operational reports.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Monitor manufacturing costs, identify variances, and provide recommendations for improved performance.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial regulations.
Support inventory management and inventory valuation processes.
Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and operational insights.
Coordinate internal and external audits while maintaining accurate financial documentation.
Supervise and mentor two Plant Controllers located in the U.S. and Japan.
Conduct regular walkthroughs of manufacturing facilities to address production, inventory, and costing issues.
Travel periodically to domestic and international manufacturing locations as needed.
