Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Perform dental charting and update patient records using Dentrix or Epic systems
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Take impressions and pour models for study casts
• Assist with dental lab tasks as needed
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as necessary
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
• Current certification in dental radiography preferred
• Proficient in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
• Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical records systems is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
