A Dental Assistant assists dentists in caring for patient's teeth. Helps patients get ready for treatment; prepares equipment and supplies. May perform some dental procedures under the direction of a dentist, such as fluoride application, if allowed under state regulations. Works in dental offices.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and update patient records using Dentrix or Epic systems
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Take impressions and pour models for study casts
- Assist with dental lab tasks as needed
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- Current certification in dental radiography preferred
- Proficient in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical records systems is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
