Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Endodontist to join our dynamic dental team once per month (on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday), with the possibly of additional days . In this vital role, you will specialize in diagnosing and treating complex root canal issues, providing exceptional patient care, and performing advanced endodontic procedures. Your expertise will help preserve natural teeth and improve patients' oral health outcomes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering precise, compassionate care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary dental practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your specialized skills in a supportive environment committed to excellence. Candidates must be able to work independently. Duties Perform comprehensive endodontic evaluations, including patient assessment and medical/dental history review, utilizing dental imaging and diagnostic tools. Conduct root canal therapy, including cleaning, shaping, disinfecting, and filling root canals with aseptic technique to prevent infection and promote healing. Diagnose dental conditions related to pulp and periapical tissues using dental terminology and healthcare diagnosis principles. Collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, and oral surgeons to develop integrated treatment plans for complex cases such as dental implants or oral surgery. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and records management. Utilize Dentrix for scheduling, charting, billing, and patient communication. Educate patients on treatment options, post-operative care, infection control practices, and oral health maintenance to ensure optimal outcomes. Adhere to infection control standards using aseptic technique and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety during all procedures. Assist in dental fabrication processes when necessary for prosthodontics or other restorative procedures. Stay current with advancements in endodontics through continuing education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge of anatomy. Qualifications Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution. Valid state license to practice dentistry with specialization certification in Endodontics preferred. Proven experience in general dentistry with advanced training or specialization in endodontics; prior experience performing root canal therapy is essential. Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix; familiarity with medical imaging technology is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control protocols, and healthcare diagnosis procedures. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly and compassionately. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous for treating pediatric patients requiring endodontic care. Ability to perform dental extractions, oral surgery procedures, and manage anesthesia effectively when needed. Commitment to adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information at all times. Demonstrated understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to endodontic procedures along with aseptic technique expertise.
