Job Description
Position Summary The SUD Therapist will serve as a therapist for individual, group, and family therapist, and make recommendations for ongoing therapy and programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide support and information to residents and program staff on a variety of issues related to the SUD program. Prepare educational material and documents for the residents. Assist with the intake process as needed, as well as, orientating new residents to the program. Attend daily and weekly treatment planning meetings reporting on client's progress as related to their Individual Service Plans and the expected outcomes. Monitor individual service plans. Serve on-call as necessary. Provide 5 hours per week group therapy per client and a minimum of 1 hour of individual therapy per assigned client. Provide family therapy a minimum of 1 time per admission and/or documents thoroughly any failed attempts to provide family therapy. Provide didactic-educational groups 1 time per week. Complete intakes including Alcohol and Drug assessments on assigned clients within 24 hours of admission. Provide assessments, individual, group, and family therapy in compliance with DMH standards. Coordinate discharge planning and serve as liaison with referring and referral facilities. Report any unusual incidents, safety concerns, or changes in client behavior indicating that the client may be a danger to self or others immediately to the CRU Supervisor. Maintain client confidentiality at all times. Document appropriate activities in case note format that justify the need for treatment. Complete and submit service logs, when applicable, per agency policy. Maintain case record documentation that is adequate, appropriate, complete, and timely. Responsible for DMH record compliance for records and billing of all forms and documentation in case record of assigned clients. Identify and report to the CRU Supervisor or his/her designee in a timely manner any safety concern in the work environment. Complete additional job duties assigned by supervisor. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Thorough knowledge of the 12-Step Model of Recovery and ASAM criteria. Working knowledge of the DSM. Previous experience working with an SMI/SED or Substance Abuse population in a treatment setting is strongly preferred. Education and Qualification Requirements Master's degree in behavioral science or related field. License/certification (i.e., LPC, LMSW, LCSW, or DMH Certification) within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout duration of employment. Certification of CPR/BLS and CPI/Mandt within 30 days of hire.
Pay:
$22.00 - $31.25 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
