Primary Therapist (SACOT, SAIOP) Otter House Wellness — Asheville, NC Otter House Wellness (OHW) is hiring a Primary Therapist to join our clinical team working with adults across SACOT and SAIOP programming. We're a growing behavioral health program, but we're intentional about how we grow. At OHW, therapists aren't treated like interchangeable providers or documentation machines. We believe good clinical work happens when therapists feel supported, clear on expectations, and trusted to use their judgment. This role is a good fit for someone who wants meaningful clinical work, a steady structure, and a team that communicates well and has your back. What You'll Be Doing As a Primary Therapist, you'll carry a reasonable primary caseload and be responsible for the core clinical work with your clients.
This includes:
Serving as the primary therapist for assigned clients in PHP, IOP, and/or Virtual programming Reviewing referral information and prior assessments to understand risks, barriers, and treatment needs Writing clear clinical summaries that actually reflect the client, not just check boxes Creating and maintaining measurable, individualized treatment plans with clients Providing individual therapy at least once per week (more if clinically appropriate) Facilitating or supporting group therapy within a structured schedule Working closely with clinical leadership, medical providers, and the treatment team to keep care coordinated Addressing behavioral issues with appropriate boundaries and evidence-informed interventions Communicating with family or supports when clinically indicated and authorized Completing documentation accurately and on time, with clear expectations and support Participating in supervision, consultation, and training to continue growing as a clinician What It's Like to Work Here We're a team-oriented program that values professionalism, communication, and steady clinical work. Required:
Active NC license or associate license in good standing Fully Licensed LCAS Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field Comfort providing individual therapy and collaborating on treatment planning Willingness to facilitate groups (or learn with support) Solid clinical writing skills Reliability, professionalism, and good boundaries CADC-only credentials are not eligible for this position.
