Position Overview:

The Intensive In-Home Qualified Mental Health Professional provides direct, community-based behavioral health services to children and adolescents experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges. This role focuses on providing individualized, family-centered interventions designed to strengthen coping skills, improve emotional and behavioral functioning, support family relationships, increase stability, and reduce the risk of higher levels of care or out-of-home placement. IIH QMHP

provides services primarily in the home and community and works collaboratively with youth, parents/guardians, families, the IIH Clinician, and other members of the treatment team to support the goals identified in the Individual Service Plan.

Responsibilities Include:

Completing client intake and required intake documentation Providing individualized, family-centered behavioral health interventions Implementing interventions and skill-building activities identified in the client's Individual Service Plan Providing support, psychoeducation, and skill development to youth and families Teaching coping, emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, and behavioral management skills Supporting parents and caregivers with strategies to address behavioral and mental health concerns Engaging parents, guardians, and family supports in the treatment process Linking clients and families to appropriate community resources and support services Coordinating care with professionals, schools, service providers, and other members of the treatment team Supporting crisis prevention, safety planning, and stabilization when clinically appropriate Monitoring client progress and communicating changes in needs or functioning to the clinical team Completing documentation and progress/BIRP notes accurately and on time Documenting interventions, client responses, progress toward goals, and plans for continued treatment Responding appropriately to crisis situations and following agency crisis procedures Participating in clinical supervision, meetings, trainings, and collaborative care planning Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality Completing required incident and risk-related documentation Participating in discharge and transition planning when appropriate Following all applicable DMAS, DBHDS, agency, and program requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a Human Services-related field QMHP or QMHP-Trainee credential/eligibility through the Virginia Board of Counseling Experience working with children, adolescents, and families preferred Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral health challenges preferred Strong communication, documentation, and crisis intervention skills Ability to provide services in clients' homes and community settings Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

This is a 1099 contractor position and does not include employee benefits. Intensive In-Home services are primarily provided in the client's home and community. Staff must be able to travel to client homes and other appropriate community locations to provide services.
