Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Coordinator and Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations and accurate patient documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about supporting patient care through effective communication and organizational skills. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment schedules, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Manage patient appointments by scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming upcoming visits via phone or electronic communication platforms. Collect and process medical payments and insurance claims, including medical billing and collections, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review and update patient records accurately within EHR systems , maintaining strict confidentiality of health information. Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately. Assist with documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance verification to support accurate billing and care plans. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, manage filing systems for medical records, and perform clerical duties such as data entry and 10-key typing with precision. Support clinical staff by managing medical scheduling, coordinating care plans, and ensuring timely patient flow throughout the clinic. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems. Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing processes, health insurance policies including Medicare and private insurers. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation review and administrative support tasks. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and clinical confidentiality policies to safeguard patient information. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and records management. Previous clinic or medical office experience is preferred; familiarity with health information management systems is highly valued. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
