General Statement of Duties Provides a full range of treatment and prevention services to clients experiencing psychiatric, emotional, relational, substance use, or social challenges. May provide clinical supervision to lower-level clinicians and students, coordinate specialized projects or program units, and deliver consultation and education services. Work involves advanced professional mental health practice and may include program planning, supervision, and community engagement. Work is performed independently under general supervision from a Program Coordinator or Program Manage. Essential Duties This position is responsible for the direct supervision of mobile unit employees that consist of a Clinician, Peer Recovery Specialist, and Licensed Practical Nurse. The mobile unit provides community-based substance use disorder (SUD) prevention, harm reduction, education, and treatment services throughout Henrico County. Duties consist of but are not limited to the following: Conducts client assessments through psychological evaluation, social history, and interviews. Administers and interprets psychological assessments including intelligence and personality tests; prepares related reports. Provides individual, group, family, and couples therapy. Develops written treatment plans and establishes diagnoses. Maintains clinical and administrative records in accordance with agency standards. Conducts collateral contacts with families and community caregivers. Refers clients to appropriate community resources based on treatment plans. May provide clinical supervision to lower-level clinicians and students. May carry a full caseload without supervisory responsibilities. Coordinates specialized projects or program units; develops written procedures and guidelines. Conducts short- and long-range program planning and evaluation. May evaluate staff performance and assist with personnel management. Prepares and submits special project grants and public education materials. Delivers educational presentations and represents the agency at community and professional events. Provides consultation and education services to external organizations. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with local agencies and stakeholders. Expands professional knowledge through academic study, independent reading, and participation in conferences and workshops. Performs other duties as assigned. Extensive knowledge of community mental health; considerable knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal human behavior and personality development, substance abuse treatment and etiology, family and group dynamics; extensive knowledge of a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment techniques/modalities and ability to perform same with most seriously disturbed clients; extensive interviewing and interpersonal skills; adherence to ethics appropriate for a professional helping relationship; extensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses, assessment, and/or psychological and educational testing; considerable knowledge of principles and methods of clinical supervision; demonstrated ability to work effectively with other community agencies; knowledge of consultation and education techniques; demonstrated ability to act with good judgment. Some positions may also require basic skills in the field of administration and personnel management, considerable knowledge of the field with which the specialty project deals, and/or ability to establish goals and direct activities toward such goals. Additional Information TB Screening, Child Protective Services check (CPS); Must hold or be qualified to work toward licensure or accreditation in the appropriate discipline. A valid driver's license to perform assigned duties at various locations Countywide as required. Minimum Requirements Master's degree (two-year) in clinical social work, psychology, or a directly related field; and three (3) years of experience in a mental health setting;

OR:

Doctoral degree in a directly related field with a one (1) year internship in a related setting;

OR:

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
