Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, monitor their well-being, and promote independence within a safe, respectful environment. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals, assist with meal planning, and ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are upheld. Document resident progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe patient transfers and adherence to safety protocols. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, intellectual disabilities support, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts effectively. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities demonstrates your commitment to compassionate caregiving. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed to provide consistent support. Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 20.0 per week
