Job Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Brookfield Adult Center | Waukesha, WI Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-3:00 PM Make a Difference Every Day Join the team at Brookfield Adult Center , where we provide meaningful, person-centered day services for adults with disabilities and older adults. Our goal is to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where each individual can build independence, develop skills, participate in the community, and enjoy meaningful experiences throughout the day. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) who genuinely enjoys working with people and wants to make a positive impact. Position Responsibilities As a DSP, you will provide hands-on support to participants throughout their day.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting participants with daily routines and individualized goals Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility as needed Safely assisting with transfers and mobility Encouraging independence and helping participants develop and maintain life skills Planning, leading, and participating in recreational, social, educational, and enrichment activities Supporting participants during community outings and activities Monitoring participants' health, safety, behavior, and overall well-being Following individualized care plans, safety protocols, and program procedures Maintaining appropriate documentation and communicating relevant information to management Building positive, respectful relationships with participants, families, coworkers, and other members of the support team Creating an inclusive environment where participants feel valued, respected, and involved Qualifications We are looking for candidates who are reliable, patient, compassionate, and comfortable providing hands-on care.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous caregiving, DSP, CNA, healthcare, or disability-services experience preferred Valid driver's license preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to safely assist with lifting, transfers, mobility, and personal care Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the workday Positive attitude and willingness to participate in activities alongside our members Ability to successfully complete required background checks and agency training Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day Shift This is an in-person, full-time position at our Waukesha location: Brookfield Adult Center 20711 Watertown Rd, Suite V Waukesha, WI Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Brookfield Adult Center location. Experience Caregiving:
1 year preferred Experience working with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities, older adults, or individuals requiring personal care assistance is especially valuable.
