Job Description

Build Arizona's Future. Inspect. Test. Make an Impact. Quality Testing, LLC (QT) is seeking ACI/ATTI-Certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field & Lab Technicians to support transportation, commercial, municipal, and heavy-civil construction projects throughout Arizona.
Pay Range:
$22.00-$38.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time, approximately 40-50 hours per week Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, certifications, technical knowledge, and project qualifications. To be considered for this position, applicants must currently hold both an active ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I certification and an applicable active ATTI certification. This position combines construction inspection, field materials testing, and laboratory testing . CMT Field & Lab Technicians inspect construction activities, test construction materials, document results, and collaborate with engineers, contractors, inspectors, and project managers to help ensure projects are completed safely and according to applicable plans, specifications, and standards. Responsibilities may include:
Inspecting construction activities for compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards Performing field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials Observing concrete placement, asphalt paving, earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage systems, and related construction activities Collecting, identifying, transporting, preparing, and processing construction-material samples Performing laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials as assigned Conducting concrete tests such as temperature, slump, air content, unit weight, and specimen preparation Performing soil-density and compaction testing using approved equipment and procedures Operating nuclear-density gauges and other field-testing equipment when properly trained and authorized Recording test results, construction progress, quantities, materials, and daily field activities Preparing clear, accurate, and timely field and laboratory reports Maintaining testing equipment, calibration records, samples, and laboratory work areas Identifying nonconforming materials or construction deficiencies and promptly communicating findings Coordinating with engineers, contractors, inspectors, laboratory personnel, and project managers Following all company, project, laboratory, and client safety requirements Traveling to construction projects throughout Arizona as needed Required Certifications Applicants must currently hold both of the following to be considered: Active ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I certification Applicable active ATTI certification in soils, asphalt, aggregate, or another relevant testing discipline Applicants must provide the complete name and expiration date of each required certification during the application process. Required Qualifications Relevant construction materials testing, field inspection, laboratory testing, engineering technician, or related construction experience Experience inspecting or testing concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, or other construction materials Working knowledge of applicable testing procedures, specifications, and documentation requirements Ability to properly and safely operate field and laboratory testing equipment Ability to read and interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, and project specifications Ability to prepare accurate field reports, laboratory reports, and testing documentation Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers, contractors, inspectors, and project teams Ability to work outdoors at active construction sites and indoors in a laboratory environment Ability to work in varying weather and field conditions Willingness to travel to project locations throughout Arizona Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards Additional Preferred Certifications Additional credentials that may strengthen a candidate's qualifications include: ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician Additional ATTI soils or asphalt certifications Nuclear-density gauge certification ICC certifications NICET certifications OSHA 10 or
OSHA 30 ADOT
inspection certifications ATSSA traffic-control certifications Other applicable construction inspection or materials-testing certifications Schedule and Travel Requirements This is a full-time position expected to average approximately 40-50 hours per week . Work schedules may vary based on project and laboratory requirements and may include early mornings, days, nights, weekends, overtime, or extended shifts. Travel to project sites throughout Arizona is required. Some assignments may require overnight stays or extended travel depending on the project's location and duration.
