As a Specimen Handler/Processor you will be responsible to ensure that patients samples are picked up, separated and delivered to the proper departments in our laboratory in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Lab experience preferred, but not mandatory
• Willing to work the night shift
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties:

• Pick up and separate samples from the processing team
• Ensure all samples are properly labeled, spun and patient identifier is showing.
• Adhere to SOP and company policy's
• Deliver specimens throughout the lab in a timely manner to their designated stations.
• Centrifuge unspun samples, such as SST's
• Communicate effectively with all lab personal
• Document electronically and manually for tracking purposes
• Help keep the processing area clean and sanitized

Working Conditions:

• Contact with a wide era of specimen samples, may contain non-biohazard and biohazard fluids.
• Standing for long periods of time
• Close attention to detail to adhere to company guidelines
• Medical facility environment that requires PPE safety guidelines.
