A Laboratory Specimen Processor catalogs specimens in a medical laboratory for use by other health care workers, including laboratory technicians, nurses, and physicians. Specimens can include blood samples, bacteria cultures, and even organs. Receives specimens, enters specimen data into a computer system, prepares samples for further laboratory analysis, and transports specimens to other labs and clinical departments.

Job Description
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Lab experience preferred, but not mandatory
- Willing to work the night shift
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Job Duties:
- Pick up and separate samples from the processing team
- Ensure all samples are properly labeled, spun and patient identifier is showing.
- Adhere to SOP and company policy's
- Deliver specimens throughout the lab in a timely manner to their designated stations.
- Centrifuge unspun samples, such as SST's
- Communicate effectively with all lab personal
- Document electronically and manually for tracking purposes
- Help keep the processing area clean and sanitized
Working Conditions:
- Contact with a wide era of specimen samples, may contain non-biohazard and biohazard fluids.
- Standing for long periods of time
- Close attention to detail to adhere to company guidelines
- Medical facility environment that requires PPE safety guidelines.
