Ferry costs fully covered for commuters Position Overview We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support back-office operations at a high-volume outpatient community health center. In this role, you will partner with healthcare providers (1:1.5 ratio) to deliver high-quality, culturally competent care to a diverse patient population spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics.

Key Responsibilities Patient Flow & Care:

Room patients, take and record accurate vital signs, obtain subjective patient information, and manage rooming and exiting protocols efficiently.

Clinical Procedures:

Perform venipuncture, assist providers with minor clinical procedures (e.g., GYN exams, I&Ds), and prepare/disinfect exam rooms using proper aseptic techniques.

Medication Administration:

Administer IM, SubQ, intradermal, oral, rectal, and inhaled medications, as well as routine vaccinations and tests per provider orders.

Care Coordination:

Assist providers with charting office visits, manage internal and external point-of-care referrals, gather diagnostic/hospital records, and participate in daily care team huddles.

Required Qualifications Licensure:

Active Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential or active MA-Interim license (must sit for full exam within 90 days of expiration; pending DOH applications considered).

Certifications:

Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience:

Minimum of 6+ months of clinical medical assisting experience. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in Community Health Center (CHC) or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings. Hands-on experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Bilingual capability in Spanish is a strong plus (on-site translation services available). Work Environment & Culture High-volume, fast-paced outpatient practice (up to 15 patients per shift). Collaborative care team environment requiring strong multitasking, autonomy, and communication skills.
