Responsibilities:
  • Support the operation of a medical clinic in day to day functioning. Greet and check-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in the electronic medical records system (Athena, Epic, etc.)
  • Schedule appointments and manage the physician's calendar
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department
  • Verify patient insurance coverage
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Address patient issues that may arise
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or associate degree in medical assisting preferred
  • Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems (Athena, Epic, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
