Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between clients and their recovery journey, providing peer support rooted in lived experience and professional training. Your efforts will help individuals navigate behavioral health challenges, including substance use disorders, while fostering a supportive and culturally sensitive environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those seeking recovery. Duties Engage with clients through effective communication, building trust and rapport to support their recovery process. Provide recovery peer support by sharing personal experiences and offering encouragement tailored to individual needs. Assist clients in crisis intervention, ensuring safety and stability during challenging moments. Offer addiction counseling and support tailored to individuals with substance use disorders, promoting healthy coping strategies. Work with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for different backgrounds and perspectives. Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information in compliance with privacy regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized recovery plans and support ongoing treatment goals. Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and community resources. Qualifications Certification as a Peer Support Specialist in behavioral health or related field. Lived experience with behavioral health challenges or substance use recovery preferred. Experience working with individuals facing substance use disorders. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse populations. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and addiction counseling principles. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in serving diverse communities. Reliable, compassionate, and motivated to support others on their recovery journey. Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
