Responsibilities Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivate clients toward positive change Assist individuals experiencing mental health conditions or substance use disorders through crisis management and intervention techniques Employ motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies to encourage engagement in treatment plans Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop client-centered recovery plans that respect cultural diversity and individual preferences Maintain strict confidentiality of client information while documenting interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems Advocate for clients' needs by connecting them with community resources, social services, and support networks Support clients in developing life skills, fostering self-advocacy, and maintaining progress in their recovery journey Qualifications Proven lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use disorders, with the ability to share recovery stories authentically and responsibly Certification as a Peer Support Specialist from an accredited organization or agency Knowledge of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling, and co-occurring disorders treatment approaches Strong crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health skills to de-escalate situations effectively Experience working with culturally diverse communities to ensure respectful and inclusive support services Familiarity with social work practices, client communication strategies, and harm reduction techniques Ability to maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and operate within electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively Join us in creating a supportive environment where hope is restored, resilience is built, and individuals are empowered to lead fulfilling lives.
