- Please Read Before Applying Applicants cannot be considered for an interview or employment unless they already have the following: Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Current TB Test In-Person CPR & First Aid Certification Must be at least 18 years of age Position Overview Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) provide direct care and supervision to adults receiving substance use and/or mental health treatment within a Behavioral Health Residential Facility (BHRF).
This role requires continuous client supervision, documentation, crisis intervention, transportation, and active engagement with clients while maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Every member of our team plays an important role in creating a safe environment where clients can heal, grow, and achieve greater independence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise and monitor clients throughout the shift to ensure their safety and well-being. Facilitate therapeutic groups and engage clients in daily programming. Complete required counseling notes, progress notes, shift reports, and all other documentation accurately and on time. Observe and report changes in client behavior, mental status, or medical concerns. Provide emotional support while utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques. Maintain a safe, clean, structured, and therapeutic living environment. Assist with medication self-administration in accordance with company policies. Conduct required room checks, wellness checks, and facility rounds. Transport clients to approved appointments, community outings, and activities using a company passenger van. Report incidents, emergencies, maintenance concerns, and client issues to leadership promptly. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies. Perform housekeeping, meal preparation, and other assigned duties that support daily facility operations. Complete additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Ability to treat clients with dignity, compassion, and respect. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong observation skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm during crisis situations. Comfortable using computers, electronic documentation systems, and mobile applications. Willingness to learn company procedures, documentation requirements, and behavioral health best practices. Previous behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, healthcare, or caregiving experience is preferred but not required. Schedule & Expectations This position typically consists of 12-hour shifts , although 10-hour shifts may occasionally be scheduled depending on facility needs and staffing requirements . Applicants should expect that most scheduled shifts will be approximately 12 hours. Behavioral Health Technicians are expected to remain engaged and available throughout their shift. Responsibilities may vary throughout the day based on client needs, admissions, discharges, appointments, and facility operations. Why Join Blessed Hands Health Care?
