Are you a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of veterans? In this position, you will play a crucial role in assisting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs by conducting assessments for Veterans transitioning from military service or seeking disability benefits from the VA. As an Advanced Practice Provider, your primary responsibility will involve conducting in-clinic assessments and evaluations with Veterans. These assessments aim to gather the necessary information for completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), which are then submitted to the VA to determine eligibility. The DBQs encompass inquiries that necessitate a direct clinical examination of the Veteran, such as evaluating joint range of motion and documenting crepitus. Success in this role hinges on exceptional and prompt assessment skills. We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated history of high reliability, particularly when working independently with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough and accurate medical examinations on veterans to assess disability claims. Gather comprehensive medical histories and perform relevant physical examinations. Complete and submit all required documentation expeditiously and accurately, including DBQs in the required format Provide clear and concise medical opinions related to disability assessments. Prepare for and deliver exceptional Veteran care during all interactions
Qualifications:
Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arizona. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, primary care/internal medicine/occupational medicine (Preferred).. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Attention to detail and proficiency in medical documentation. Ability to meet assigned deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
