    Flexible / To Be Determined Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) to join our behavioral health care team.
The
PMHNP-BC
will work collaboratively with clinical and support staff to provide psychiatric services to clients receiving behavioral health treatment. The primary responsibilities of this position include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, providing medication management, and completing clinically appropriate follow-up appointments. This position is ideal for a
PMHNP-BC
who is comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary care team while independently providing and documenting psychiatric services within the practitioner's scope of practice. The
PMHNP-BC
will independently bill for psychiatric evaluations and other applicable psychiatric services provided to clients. Primary Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluations. Complete psychiatric diagnostic assessments and establish appropriate psychiatric diagnoses within scope of practice. Assess psychiatric symptoms, behavioral health history, medication history, treatment history, and relevant clinical risk factors. Develop appropriate psychiatric treatment recommendations based on evaluation findings. Provide ongoing medication management services. Prescribe, monitor, adjust, and discontinue psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate and within scope of practice. Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, adherence, and client response. Conduct scheduled client follow-up appointments to assess psychiatric symptoms, treatment progress, medication response, and ongoing needs. Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation for all services provided. Coordinate with members of the client's care team regarding treatment needs, recommendations, progress, and continuity of care when appropriate and authorized. Participate as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary behavioral health treatment team. Identify changes in psychiatric status that may require additional evaluation, intervention, referral, or a higher level of care. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable federal and Arizona requirements. Maintain all professional licenses, certifications, prescribing credentials, and other qualifications required to provide psychiatric services. Billing Arrangement The
PMHNP-BC
will be responsible for billing for psychiatric evaluations and other applicable psychiatric services provided by the
PMHNP-BC.
Specific billing, credentialing, reimbursement, and contractual arrangements will be discussed during the interview and contracting process. Qualifications Current
PMHNP-BC
certification through an accepted national certifying organization. Current Arizona authority/credentials necessary to practice and prescribe within the position's scope. Current DEA registration when required for prescribed medications. Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and providing psychiatric medication management. Knowledge of behavioral health diagnoses, psychopharmacology, treatment planning, risk assessment, and continuity of care. Ability to complete clear, accurate, timely, and clinically defensible documentation. Ability to work collaboratively with behavioral health professionals, case management staff, support staff, and other members of the client's care team. Strong communication, clinical judgment, organization, and time-management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an outpatient behavioral health setting. Experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Familiarity with Arizona behavioral health services and Medicaid/AHCCCS populations. Experience coordinating psychiatric services within an interdisciplinary treatment team. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a
