Job Description

About the Job We are seeking a skilled, efficient, and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic urgent care team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, acute episodic care to patients of all ages, ranging from infants to geriatrics. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong clinical decision-making skills, and is comfortable working independently or in a collaborative team model.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assess, diagnose, and treat acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
Procedures:
Perform minor surgical procedures including laceration repair, suturing, incision and drainage, and splinting.
Diagnostics:
Order/interpret laboratory tests and EKGs.
Prescriptions:
Prescribe medications and treatments utilizing appropriate prescriptive authority.
Patient Flow:
Maintain efficient room-to-room times while ensuring comprehensive documentation in the EMR.
Triage:
Identify emergent medical issues and safely coordinate transfers to emergency departments when required.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's program or Physician Assistant program.
Licensure:
Active and unrestricted license to practice in the state.
Certifications:
Current national board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
Credentials:
Active DEA license, state controlled substance registration, and NPI number.
Life Support:
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred).
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
Demographics:
Comfort treating pediatric patients down to 6 months of age.
Occupational Health:
Certification as an FMCSA Medical Examiner (DOT physicals) is highly desirable.
