Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Exciting contract opportunity available for an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) and Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to support elementary students this winter. This position involves providing maternity leave coverage starting at the beginning of February. You will be working full-time, serving two K-5 schools—each with distinct grade-level attendance centers. Your hours will be 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, managing a caseload of approximately 50 students across both campuses.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Illinois licensure as an Occupational Therapist or SLP-CCC Prior experience working in a school setting and with elementary-aged students (K-5) Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, parents, and support staff Ability to adapt therapy approaches to diverse needs within the caseload Commitment to providing inclusive, student-centered services
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy or speech-language therapy to students, both in group and individual settings Evaluate students, create treatment plans, and set/monitor therapy goals Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required by the district Participate in IEP meetings, contributing clinical expertise and recommendations Travel between two neighboring campuses as needed during the school day This contract offers the chance to make a meaningful difference during a staff transition, providing essential therapy services and continuity of care for local students.
