Per Diem Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our home health care team as an independent contractor . In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide in-home therapeutic interventions that promote patient independence and enhance quality of life. As a COTA contractor, you'll enjoy schedule flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to deliver personalized care in a meaningful and impactful way.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Assist patients in developing or regaining daily living and functional skills. Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the OT. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and use of adaptive equipment. Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to agency and state regulations. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care.
Credential & Experience Requirements:
Active COTA license in the state of California. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy). Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (home health experience preferred). Valid CPR/BLS certification. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance. Familiarity with electronic documentation (EMR) systems. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
