This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, working closely with a dedicated caseload of 32 students. With 32.5 hours per week, you'll collaborate with special education teams to deliver vital services that empower students to succeed academically and in daily life. In this role, you will be supervised by a part-time virtual Occupational Therapist, fostering your professional growth while allowing for both independent contribution and collaborative support.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed OT Support students' fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills within the classroom setting Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to help develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) Collect and document progress data, reporting important information to the supervising OT and educators Facilitate small groups and one-on-one sessions aligned with students' IEP goals
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active certification and licensure as a COTA in Michigan Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric occupational therapy setting preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Comfortable working collaboratively and independently under remote supervision Passion for fostering student development and inclusion
