POSITION OVERVIEW

The COTA will provide occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will help students develop the functional skills needed to participate successfully in the school environment. Responsibilities may include implementing treatment plans, working with students on fine motor, sensory and functional skills, documenting student progress, and collaborating with the supervising OT, teachers and other members of the educational team.

REQUIREMENTS

New York State authorization to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program School-based or pediatric experience preferred Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work collaboratively with the supervising OT and school team Ability to meet applicable school clearance requirements
