Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting students during a key transition period as a contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting. This full-time opportunity supports a maternity leave and gives you the chance to collaborate closely with an experienced Occupational Therapist across several elementary schools. Each day offers direct interaction with 9-10 students, primarily through half-hour sessions, emphasizing personalized pediatric care in a friendly and supportive environment. This contract is set to begin tentatively around February 16th, 2027, and extend through May 14th, 2027, for the remainder of the school year. With a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, you'll be based at a selection of elementary schools, partnering with dedicated educators and therapists to deliver high-quality services.
Your background should include:
Active South Carolina COTA license (required) Experience within school settings or pediatric populations strongly preferred Ability to adapt to varying student needs across multiple school sites Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care In this role, you'll: Work in tandem with an Occupational Therapist assigned by the district Deliver direct therapeutic interventions to a consistent caseload Travel between designated elementary schools as needed for service delivery Document progress and craft relevant materials to support student development Contribute to individualized education plans and multidisciplinary meetings If you have a passion for making a measurable difference in children's school experiences—and are ready for a rewarding, structured contract assignment—your skills are in high demand.
