Purpose:
Coordinate and guide patients through the diagnostic breast imaging process, serving as a liaison between patients, mammography staff, radiologists, referring providers, and scheduling teams to facilitate timely care, clear communication, and appropriate follow-up.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary point of contact for patients requiring additional or diagnostic breast imaging. Coordinate and schedule diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and recommended breast procedures as appropriate. Guide patients through the diagnostic imaging process, providing clear and compassionate information regarding next steps. Track patients requiring additional imaging or procedures and assist with timely completion of recommended follow-up. Coordinate necessary orders, prior imaging, reports, and other information needed for diagnostic appointments. Communicate with referring providers, radiologists, mammography technologists, and other team members to coordinate patient care. Assist patients with resolving scheduling, records, orders, and other barriers that may delay diagnostic care. Document patient communication, scheduling activity, follow-up attempts, and outcomes in the appropriate systems. Escalate clinical questions, unresolved follow-up, or other concerns to the appropriate clinical team member. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow established departmental, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
High School Diploma or equivalent Previous healthcare, medical scheduling, patient coordination, medical assisting, or related patient-facing experience preferred Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple patients and follow-up needs while maintaining accurate documentation Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, providers, and clinical staff EHR and scheduling experience preferred
Preferred:
Previous experience in mammography, breast imaging, women's health, radiology, oncology, or patient navigation Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic breast imaging workflows Experience with
PACS/EHR
systems and patient tracking or coordination of follow-up care
