Small Group/Personal Trainer

Job Description

Role Description The Small Group Fitness Trainer will lead and coach small group fitness classes for programs such as Fit Over 50, Killer Kurves, and Sweat Fit, ensuring workouts are safe, effective, and adaptable for a variety of fitness levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging sessions, demonstrating proper exercise technique, monitoring participant form, and providing individualized modifications as needed. The trainer will foster a welcoming, inclusive environment, build positive relationships with participants, and support their progress through motivation, feedback, and basic wellness guidance. Additional tasks may include assisting with member check-ins, maintaining a clean and organized workout space, and collaborating with the team on program improvements and special events. This is a part-time, on-site role located in Madison, WI. Qualifications Strong skills in Group Exercise and Fitness Instruction, with experience leading small group classes. Proficiency in Fitness Training and practical knowledge of the Fitness Industry and current training methods. Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and a supportive coaching style. Relevant certification in personal training or group fitness (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFAA) or willingness to obtain one. Ability to tailor workouts to different ages, abilities, and body types, including beginners and individuals with higher weight-loss goals. Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a team-oriented, community-focused environment. CPR/AED certification and commitment to maintaining a safe training environment.
