Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement personalized treatment plans across diverse settings within the outpatient clinic environment. Your expertise in physical therapy techniques and compassionate patient care will directly contribute to meaningful recovery journeys for a wide range of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans for patients with various diagnoses. Implement physical therapy treatments such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, and functional mobility. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and ABA staff to coordinate patient care and optimize recovery outcomes. Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain procedures, provide education on exercises, and address concerns compassionately. Support discharge planning by documenting client progress and recommending ongoing therapies or home exercise programs as needed. Qualifications Valid certification or license as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state requirements. Proven experience working in pediatrics as well as adults with neurological and orthopedic diagnoses in outpatient setting. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, and related medical terminology. Proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards. Experience operating medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems for accurate recordkeeping. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and engage with patients and their families. Ability to perform manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy interventions confidently. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
