Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Physician Assistant specializing in Pain Management to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver expert patient care by assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will help improve patient quality of life through innovative treatment plans, medication management, and collaborative practice with healthcare professionals. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to evaluate pain levels and underlying causes. Develop and implement individualized pain management plans utilizing pharmacologic treatments such as injections, Botulinum toxin therapy, and other modalities aligned with best practices. Administer injections and perform procedures following aseptic techniques, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner), documenting all clinical encounters accurately for data collection, billing (CPT coding), and quality assurance purposes. Interpret diagnostic tests including imaging studies, laboratory results, and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment decisions. Provide patient education on pain management strategies, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching to promote self-care and adherence. Qualifications Valid certification as a Physician Assistant with current state licensure in good standing; experience in pain management preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with Telehealth is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology related to pain assessment and treatment modalities including Botulinum toxin treatment. Critical care experience or ICU background enhances ability to manage complex cases involving acute pain or ventilator-dependent patients. Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for billing purposes; understanding of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) for prescription medications. Experience in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency rooms is highly desirable; familiarity with acute care environments is essential. Additional skills include suturing, triage procedures, infection control practices, diagnostic test interpretation, and managing complex medical records efficiently. Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are essential for success in this role.
