What they do
A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses and injuries
- Performing procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
- Ordering and independently interpreting diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory work, and 12-lead EKGs
- Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Georgia regulations and clinic protocols
- Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Accurately and efficiently documenting patient encounters
- Collaborating with clinical and operational team members to provide a convenient, caring, and high-quality patient experience Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C
- Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain one
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to perform common urgent care procedures, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
- Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-service skills Preferred Experience
- Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine
- Experience practicing in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical environment Benefits
