Job Description

As a Radiologic Technologist at Piedmont Healthcare, you'll perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams in a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities include accurately positioning patients, operating digital and portable X-ray equipment, and ensuring radiation safety standards are met. You'll collaborate with physicians and nurses to support timely diagnosis and treatment, maintain detailed documentation in PACS/EMR, and follow strict infection control protocols. Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and protocols Position patients safely and accurately for imaging procedures Operate digital and portable X-ray equipment and troubleshoot basic equipment issues Adhere to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles for patients and staff Document exams, patient history, and technical factors in PACS/RIS and EMR systems Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment Maintain exam rooms, equipment cleanliness, and infection control standards Assist in emergency and trauma imaging, including OR and bedside procedures Verify patient identification and obtain necessary consent and screening information Participate in ongoing training, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Diagnostic radiography Operating digital and portable X-ray equipment Radiation safety and ALARA practices Patient positioning and immobilization PACS/RIS and EMR documentation Infection control protocols Basic IV contrast knowledge Emergency and trauma imaging support Patient communication and care Exam scheduling and workflow coordination
