Victoria, TX Job Summary Are you an experienced Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) looking for a high-impact PRN / Per Diem role in a hospital setting? DeTar Healthcare System is seeking a Radiology Technologist II to perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures that assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. In this role, you will operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensure strict patient safety and comfort, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to produce high-quality diagnostic images. As a senior member of the team, you will adhere to regulatory standards, provide patient/family education, and serve as a clinical resource for the department.

Essential Functions :

Diagnostic Imaging & Equipment Operation :

Operate, monitor, and maintain radiographic and X-ray equipment during procedures to consistently capture high-quality images. Perform pre-procedure safety and functionality checks on all radiology equipment.

Invasive Imaging Support :

Perform all assigned functions related to invasive imaging procedures as needed, strictly adhering to safety and procedural standards.

Patient Care & Vital Monitoring :

Monitor patients' vital signs and pulses during procedures, relaying accurate, real-time clinical information to appropriate medical staff.

Patient & Family Education :

Educate patients and their families regarding pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure instructions, answering questions to ensure comfort and understanding.

Regulatory & Documentation Compliance :

Maintain precise patient records (pre-, during-, and post-procedure), ensure accurate charge entry, and verify all required documentation is signed, dated, and timed by physicians according to facility and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership & In-Service Training :

Assist management with in-service training on radiology equipment, monitor radiation safety practices within the lab, provide clinical guidance, resolve conflicts, and step into delegated authority as assigned.

Departmental Support :

Maintain regular, reliable attendance and comply with all healthcare facility policies, standards, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Experience:

2 to 4 years of clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist (Required). 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in an Invasive Lab setting (Preferred).

Certifications & Licensure:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (Required). State Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable (Required). Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire (Required). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Technical Expertise :

Advanced proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting radiographic equipment and systems.

Clinical Knowledge :

Strong background in radiologic imaging techniques, precise patient positioning, radiation safety, and infection control protocols.

Systems Proficiency :

Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).

Diagnostic Precision :

Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to quickly recognize imaging abnormalities and artifacts.

Communication & Care :

Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams while preserving patient confidentiality and adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations.

Adaptability :

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
