Job Description

Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, culturally responsive nursing care to patients within the Tribal Health Family Practice Clinic. The clinic is open Mon-Thurs from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The RN supports providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the lifespan and promotes health, prevention, and wellness within the Tribal community. The RN works collaboratively with providers, community health representatives, and other healthcare team members to improve overall community health outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including vital signs, health histories, screenings, medication reconciliation, and risk assessments. Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures Administer medications, immunizations, and injections per provider orders and clinic protocols Provide culturally sensitive patient education on preventive care, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension), medications, and wellness practices Triage patient calls and walk-in concerns using established protocols Coordinate care including referrals, lab follow-ups, and specialty services Support public health initiatives such as immunization programs, health screenings, and community outreach events Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Ensure compliance with federal, state, tribal, and accreditation standards (as applicable) Maintain infection control and safety standards within the clinic Participate in quality improvement activities and multidisciplinary team meetings Promote a welcoming, respectful environment that honors Tribal culture, traditions, and values Skill in utilizing a computer database and spreadsheet software, Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS) and electronic medical records. Skill in child immunizations. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, other local, state and Federal agencies, contractors, vendors, patients, their families, and other interested parties.
