JOB TITLE

OPIV Clinic SHIFT:
FTE 0.4 (32 hours bi-weekly) Part-Time Summary/Objective The Registered Nurse is responsible for day-to-day patient care operations and will provide direct patient care according to patient and unit specific needs, and is responsible for assessing, planning, prioritizing, organizing, administering, and evaluating patient care. Essential Functions Assures the accurate and timely delivery and documentation of patient care, including acknowledgement of physician's orders, administration of treatments, medications, and related procedures. Completes an accurate and complete patient assessment and responds accordingly. Provides patient education at discharge and throughout stay Maintains efficient patient throughput Ensures compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards Serves as a clinical resource to staff members and assists with daily tasks, decision making and problem solving. Follows standard precaution guidelines Uses AIDET format, establishes, maintains, and promotes among staff members positive working relationships with internal and external customers for the effective resolution of concerns in area of responsibility and in support of hospital goals and objectives.
Communication:
effectively communicates with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors verbally or in written documentation. Completes and documents in the electronic medical record in a thorough and accurate manner as defined by unit policy. Assesses the patient/family education needs and most effective methods. Must be proficient in medication administration, including IV therapy, as evidenced by lack of medication errors. Reports medication errors. Participation in unit specific initiatives such as education offerings, unit meetings, quality and process improvement. Qualifications Graduate of accredited professional nursing program, BSN preferred Current RN license in Indiana Experience Prior experience preferred but not required Skills/Competencies Strong analytical and organizational skills to prepare and maintain various documentation in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Strong communication skills promoting teamwork and group achievement as well as one on one communication with patients. Meets department specific skills and competencies Education Required Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, BSN preferred. Licenses Requirements Current State of Indiana licensure in Nursing
