1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring L&D, postpartum, and nursery experience. Details Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 12-hour shifts with 36 hours guaranteed per week Possible weekend shifts required No on-call responsibilities Requirements Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required at time of submission Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP, all through AHA and active at time of start Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required Postpartum and nursery experience required BSN degree preferred Skills checklist required within 1 year COVID vaccination card required if vaccinated Additional Information Perform head-to-toe patient assessments and reassessments per policy Assess and manage patient pain using appropriate evaluation and management techniques Develop, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on patient response to treatment Provide age-appropriate care and medication administration following the five medication rights Educate patients and families on pain management and other care needs Maintain a safe patient care environment to reduce medical errors Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and care coordination for patient needs and discharge planning Communicate effectively with unit leadership, colleagues, and physicians Maintain annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose waived testing Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment
