Job Description

Overview A locally operated hospice organization is seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide hospice care to patients in Eufaula, McAlester, and surrounding communities . We are open to both full-time and PRN candidates . This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who values patient-centered care, independence in the field, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with patients and families. We are looking for an RN who is compassionate, clinically strong, dependable, comfortable working independently, responsive to patients and families, and organized with documentation and follow-through. Hospice nursing offers the opportunity to spend meaningful time with patients and families, manage symptoms proactively, and help patients remain comfortable and supported during one of the most important stages of life. Responsibilities Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, and other care settings. Complete patient visits throughout Eufaula, McAlester, and surrounding areas based on patient census and care needs. Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing evaluation of patient needs. Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with the hospice interdisciplinary team. Manage symptoms including pain, shortness of breath, nausea, anxiety, wounds, and other end-of-life care needs. Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding medications, symptom management, disease progression, and what to expect during the end-of-life process. Coordinate medications, durable medical equipment, supplies, and other services needed for patient care. Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, nurse practitioners, and members of the interdisciplinary team. Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings and care planning. Complete nursing documentation accurately and timely in accordance with hospice policies and regulatory requirements. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families. Participate in an on-call rotation as needed based on staffing and position status. Coordinate care with facilities, pharmacies, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license . Hospice, home health, palliative care, oncology, geriatrics, or related nursing experience preferred. Hospice experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate . Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills. Compassionate and comfortable caring for patients and families during serious illness and at the end of life. Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating closely with the hospice team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel throughout Eufaula, McAlester, and surrounding communities . Ability to complete required electronic clinical documentation.
Schedule Full-Time:
Regular hospice RN caseload with visits throughout the service area, participation in interdisciplinary care, and an on-call rotation as appropriate.

Flexible scheduling based on patient census, admissions, visits, and coverage needs throughout Eufaula, McAlester, and surrounding areas.
