Correctional Registered Nurse

Intermediate-Level RN Opportunity This position is suited for an RN who can independently perform routine nursing assignments, apply established clinical procedures, and seek appropriate guidance when handling complex or unfamiliar situations. Key Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care and treatment to inmates and detainees. Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. Administer medications and treatments and monitor patients' responses. Respond to clinical changes and emergencies using sound professional judgment. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and required clinical documentation. Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Core Nursing Competencies Patient assessment, vital-sign monitoring, and care-plan development. Medication administration, IV therapy, and clinical treatments. Emergency response, CPR, first aid, oxygen administration, and respiratory care. Wound care, catheter care, infection control, and specimen collection. Electronic medical record documentation and professional communication. Minimum Qualifications Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license Ability to enter and maintain patient information in an electronic medical records system. Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office. Ability to exercise independent professional judgment within the RN scope of practice. Strong assessment, communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work safely and professionally in a secure correctional environment.
