Job Description

Corrections Registered Nurse Shift - 1400-2230 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Corrections Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team within a correctional facility. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals, ensuring their health and safety while adhering to strict safety protocols and healthcare standards. Your expertise will help promote wellness, manage acute and chronic conditions, and support rehabilitation efforts in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories, to determine immediate and ongoing medical needs. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper aseptic techniques and documentation protocols. Manage acute pain cases, perform wound suturing, and assist with procedures such as catheterization and tube feeding. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for case management, discharge planning, and referrals to specialty services like ophthalmology or infectious disease care. Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide triage services for urgent health concerns, prioritize care needs based on severity, and facilitate transfers to hospital or emergency services when necessary.
