We operate a medical practice that evaluates children to determine if they meet the criteria for autism and provides follow-up care and sensory-friendly EEG services. Our family support team is there to help families navigate the autism journey with personalized guidance, resources, and education. In addition, we offer an enrichment program for autistic children and their families. We are looking for more than administrative support—we are looking for a caring individual aligned with our commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive experience for the families we serve. Job Overview We are seeking a warm, professional, and attentive Medical Office Receptionist to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support while ensuring a welcoming environment. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and quality care. This is a front-desk and administrative position focused on patient scheduling, check-in/check-out, telephone communication, insurance-related tasks, and other office responsibilities. This position does not involve clinical or Medical Assistant duties. Responsibilities Schedule appointments (including insurance verification) and maintain the appointment calendar. Handle incoming calls and office voicemail, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary. Process incoming referrals and coordinate referral requests. Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate patient information and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, faxing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Communicate with healthcare providers and staff regarding scheduling, patient information, and other administrative matters. Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks with respect to family support services. Provide excellent customer service to children and their families. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role, preferably in pediatrics. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with patients and families. Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly Practice Fusion. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and staff. Ability to work as an effective team member with a willingness to help out as needed. Ability to take initiative and anticipate the needs of staff.
