Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional administrative and clinical support to ensure smooth daily operations within the medical practice. You will manage patient records, coordinate appointments, handle billing processes, and assist with clinical documentation, all while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and assist with check-in procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule patient appointments efficiently, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage the clinic calendar with precision Collect payments, process medical billing using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/10 coding for diagnoses, and handle insurance claims in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with health information management standards Assist clinicians by preparing exam rooms, managing clinical documentation review, and supporting care plan documentation Maintain confidentiality of patient information by adhering to clinical confidentiality policies and health insurance guidelines Support front desk operations by answering phone calls professionally, providing excellent customer service, and managing appointment scheduling with strong phone etiquette Assist with Other tasks as needed Skills Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in electronic health records management is essential Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures including Medicare, health insurance policies, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and documentation review Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Previous clinic experience or medical office management experience is preferred; familiarity with front desk operations and medical scheduling is a plus Understanding of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies ensures secure handling of sensitive information Exceptional organizational skills combined with attention to detail in medical records management and administrative support tasks Effective communication skills for phone interactions and patient service; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Join our team as a Medical Office Assistant where your enthusiasm for healthcare administration will make a meaningful difference!
