Encompass Health is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide high-quality evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this patient-centered, team-oriented environment, you will design and deliver individualized treatment plans, collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary rehab team, and educate patients and families to support recovery. You'll document progress, participate in team conferences, and uphold clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Evaluate patients' speech, language, cognition, and swallowing needs in an inpatient rehabilitation setting Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary rehab team Provide evidence-based speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia therapy Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home programs, and recovery strategies Document assessments, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record Participate in team conferences and contribute to discharge planning and goal setting Collaborate with physicians, nursing, PT/OT, and case management to optimize patient outcomes Maintain compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards and Encompass Health policies Engage in ongoing professional development, specialty training, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Speech and language assessment Cognitive-communication evaluation Dysphagia assessment and management Treatment planning and goal setting Interdisciplinary team collaboration Electronic medical record documentation Patient and family education Rehabilitation outcome measurement Evidence-based therapy techniques Regulatory and clinical compliance
