Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, decontamination, and preparation of medical instruments and equipment used in patient care. Your expertise will directly contribute to infection prevention, patient safety, and the smooth operation of surgical and clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols, medical terminology, and infection control practices, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of healthcare hygiene and safety. Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with established protocols. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments to ensure availability while minimizing waste. Reprocess endoscopes and other specialized medical devices following manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance records. Follow strict aseptic techniques during instrument handling to prevent contamination. Assist with the setup of sterile fields for surgical procedures by preparing sterile instruments and supplies. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate timely delivery of sterile instruments for scheduled procedures. Stay updated on infection prevention management practices and healthcare infection control regulations.
