Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, decontamination, and preparation of medical instruments and equipment used in patient care. Your expertise will directly contribute to infection prevention, patient safety, and the smooth operation of surgical services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, medical terminology, and infection control standards. Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical equipment following established protocols. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments with precision to ensure readiness for surgical procedures. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, including ordering, tracking, and documentation. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance. Apply aseptic techniques during handling and reprocessing to prevent contamination. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized items to verify compliance with infection prevention standards. Support endoscope reprocessing by adhering to manufacturer instructions and infection control guidelines. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies. Follow all hospital policies related to infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices. Participate in ongoing training on sterilization methods, new technologies, and regulatory updates.
