Kaua'i North Shore Animal Clinic

Veterinarian 12 Days/Week on Kauai | Oahu-Based DVMs Welcome

Job Description

Love living on Oʻahu but interested in spending a day or two each week practicing on Kauaʻi? Kauaʻi North Shore Animal Clinic is looking for an experienced Hawaiʻi-licensed veterinarian interested in joining our team on a consistent 1-2 day per week basis. This isn't traditional relief coverage. We're looking for someone who would enjoy becoming a regular part of our team while continuing to live and work primarily on Oʻahu. Maybe you work 3-4 days a week and would enjoy adding a regular Kauaʻi day. Maybe you do relief but miss being part of a consistent team. Or maybe you're simply looking for something different without making a major life change. We're flexible and open to figuring out what works for the right person. About Us We're a privately owned small animal practice in Kilauea on Kauaʻi's north shore. We practice progressive, workup-based medicine with an emphasis on diagnostics, thoughtful case management, and good client communication. We're also the first Fear Free Certified Practice in Hawaiʻi and have a small, dedicated team that genuinely enjoys working together. Our hospital is well equipped with: Full IDEXX in-house and reference lab capabilities Digital radiography and dental radiography In-clinic ultrasound Advanced anesthesia monitoring Electrocautery Vetspire with integrated AI scribe A network of visiting specialists providing advanced surgery, ultrasound, echocardiography, ophthalmology, and dermatology Medicine on Kauaʻi can be interesting and hands-on. There is no 24/7 emergency hospital or full-time specialists on island, so our doctors have the opportunity to manage a broader range of cases than they might in a more referral-heavy environment. Who We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced veterinarian who is clinically independent, comfortable managing a varied small-animal caseload, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team. Comfort with routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry, including extractions, is important. Emergency procedures, ultrasound, and advanced anesthesia experience are a plus. A current Hawaiʻi veterinary license is required. Schedule & Travel We're looking for approximately 1-2 consistent days per week. That could be one set day each week, two consecutive days, or another predictable arrangement that works well for both sides. We know interisland travel adds another layer to the workday. Airfare and travel expenses will be covered. Competitive compensation will be based on experience, schedule, and the overall arrangement. If you like your life on Oʻahu but think having a regular Kauaʻi clinic day sounds pretty great, we'd love to hear from you!
